Adult Cicada

After the cicada sheds the nymph skin, it crawls or flys to the tree tops and the males begin thier mating song. Each can produce soound at 90 decibles and a single acre of forest contains about 1.5 million cicadas. If you find your self under a canopy of cicadas, the sound is astonishing. They all sing in rythym so the sound washes over you in waves.
